Footwear retailer DSW Inc ytd Q3 same store sales up 3.5%

Ohio based branded footwear retailer DSW Inc reported net sales of $302.2 million for the thirteen-week period ended October 29, 2005, a 15.2 percent increase over last year's net sales of $262.4 million for the thirteen-week period ended October 30, 2004.
Third Quarter comparable store sales increased 3.5 percent over the same period last year. Comparable store sales for the same period last year increased 0.8 percent.
Total sales for the four-week period ended October 29, 2005 increased 20.4 percent to $112.6 million versus $93.5 million last year. Comparable store sales increased 8.9 percent for the four-week period. Comparable store sales for the same period last year increased 6.7 percent.
Year-to-date, sales increased 17.9 percent to $860.3 million compared to last year's $729.4 million. Year-to-date comparable store sales increased 3.7 percent over last year. Comparable store sales for the same period last year increased 4.7 percent.
The company anticipates reporting third quarter earnings results in early December on a date to be announced. Management will conduct a conference call on the same day to discuss the Company's performance.
US based DSW is a specialty branded footwear retailer operating 186 DSW stores in 32 states and also supplies, under supply arrangements, to 25 locations for related retailers and to 209 locations for other non-related retailers in the United States.
