Erdem picks Bacx by Centro Seta fabrics for new line

Fabrics from the 'Bacx by Centro Seta' collection have been picked for the Eco-Age by Erdem Collection, which was presented during London Fashion Week.

Florence, Italy based Centro Seta is a company with over 20 years of expertise in the silk industry and has a pioneering approach to smart textiles.

“The 'Bacx by Centro Seta' line showcases a new generation of unique, beautiful, exclusive and certified silk fabrics that are fully traceable and made in Italy,” a press release stated.

Some of the finest Bacx by Centro Seta's fabrics has been chosen by Erdem, a renowned clothing brand based in London, to create a collection in collaboration with Eco-Age, a consultancy firm for sustainability solutions.

The dress made from Bacx Duchess Satin contains Newlife and Oeko-Tex certified silk yarns that are free from harmful chemicals.

The dress also features printed silk Crepe de Chine made from 100 per cent silk yarn that is free from harmful chemicals and has been naturally treated and woven in Italy.

It has been digitally printed in the Netherlands using inks free from hazardous chemicals and a method, which saves significant amounts of water, energy and materials.

Also featuring archival brocade, the dress has been embroidered using the Irishing embroidery technique.

The 12 pieces Eco-Age by Erdem Collection was presented during 'The Green Carpet Challenge' (GCC) at London Fashion Week. (AR)
