Lingerie maker De Millus to explore Gulf markets

De Millus, a leading lingerie manufacturer of Brazil, proposes to expand its exports segment in 2006 by exploring new markets in Arab countries besides Lebanon.

Company aims to boost its production by 20 percent, thereby raising its exports, says Eva Goldman, Export Director of De Millus.

Since 2002, De Millus has exported its products to Lebanon two to three times per year to a distributor, said Eva.

De Millus is ready to welcome new associates of the Arab market. Its major products exported to the Arab country are panties, bras and girdles in the most basic models, without lace or embroidery. Apart from Lebanon, company has already exported to the United Arab Emirates.

According to Eva, exports stand for 5 percent of the company's revenues, or around US $4.4 million.

In 2005, there was an increase of 35 percent in its revenue, and added to inform that the company manufactures 100,000 articles per day.
