Footwear retailer DSW Inc Dec sales jump 20.7%

Leading specialty branded footwear retailer DSW Inc reported net sales of $114.3 million for the five-week period ended December 31, 2005, a 20.7 percent increase over last year's net sales of $94.7 million for the five-week period ended January 1, 2005.
December comparable store sales increased 9.9 percent over the same period last year.
For the forty-eight week period ended December 31, 2005, the Company reported a net sales increase of 18.8 percent to $1.07 billion from $902.9 million last year.
Comparable store sales increased 5.1 percent for the forty-eight week period.
Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, DSW Inc is a leading US specialty branded footwear retailer that offers a wide selection of brand name and designer dress, casual and athletic footwear for women and men.
DSW currently operates 199 stores in 32 states and also supplies footwear to 25 locations for related retailers and to 213 locations for other non-related retailers in the United States.
