Local fashion scene this season indicates fur as the main theme, this season

Whether it be sable, mink or fox, plenty of fur is being offered in various styles, including full-length coats, tailored jackets, chic capes and darling wraps.

Store racks hold fashionable labels, incorporating new ideas to lure shoppers towards fur as a luxury against winter.

Designer Son Jung-wan from Apkujong uses furs with cropped jackets, vests and capes, whereas designer Kang Hee-sook, puts mink on jacket collars.

O'2nd produces a mahogany mink jacket with bell sleeves and a belt with an oversized, jewel-crusted buckle.

Targeting women in their 20s and 30s, the labels Stefanel, Dohc and 96ny, offer rabbit or mink fur trimmed cropped jackets, which can either be used with slim-fitting dress slacks or with jeans.

Balenciaga's offer honey mink-collared wool jacket whereas EnC, a tan belted jacket with rabbit fur lining.

Vince and Juicy Couture and local System have puffer jackets with fur-trimmed hoods.

The International Fur Trade Federation (IFTF) suggests some guidelines to preserve the fur garments:

1. Always hang fur on a broad-shouldered hanger, never on a wire hanger. Give your fur plenty of room in the wardrobe so it is not crushed.

2. Never hang your fur in a plastic bag or rubber-lined bag. Plastic prevents air from circulating and can dry out the leather. When traveling, store your fur in a cloth garment bag provided by your furrier.

3. Avoid leaving it hanging in direct sunlight or in a brightly lit area. The light can cause the fur to oxidize or change color.
