Six young designers presents at SIMM, Spain

A total of eleven Brazilian fashion brands forming part of ABIT (Brazilian Textile and Clothes Manufacturing Industry Association) are presenting their new ideas for Autumn-Winter 2006/07 at the Madrid International Fashion Fair, the largest fashion fair in Spain and the second largest in Europe, which will take place between 9th and 12th February at the IFEMA fairground.

Madrid International Fashion Week (SIMM) is currently the leading fair in the fashion industry in Spain. The participation of exhibitors from the whole of Spain and 28 other countries confirm the national importance and international identity of this fair which ranks second on the European fashion fair scale.

ABIT that represents more than 30,000 companies throughout the country, ranging from fibre producers to clothes manufacturing industries, which generate some 1.5 million direct and indirect jobs, organized in collaboration with the Promotion and Export Agency of Brazil (APEX-Brazil) aims to support the 11 Brazilian brands present at the event.

Among these participants, the fashion designer Mareu Nitschke, who has been specially invited by the fair organizers to take part in the 'LatinoAméricaFashion Show', alongside four other designers from South America. This fashion show will take place on Wednesday 8th February and serve as the official opening of the fair.

In addition, 6 young Brazilian designers will receive support from ABIT in order to present their creationsat SIMM, within the section set aside for young designers, Plataforma: Joao Pimenta, Elisa Chanan, Sexxes, Orientavida, Neon and Alessa.

ABIT is presenting an institutional stand at SIMM.

In addition to supporting the promotional and commercial activities of the Brazilian exhibitors, it will provide information regarding the Brazilian textile and clothes manufacturing industry, both to buyers, journalists and to opinion leaders who visit the ABIT stand.
