Denim jeans has come a long way, evolving from its ruff-tuff construction worker's outfit origins to a fashion brand.

Jeans today, is not only known as a comfort-fit but also a stylish must-have.

Designer jeans are a must for major fashion events and denim fabric is the most versatile of all, say industry experts .
Major brands are tying up with renowned fashion designers to produce wide range of denim styles.

While Lee has bagged the charismatic Ritu Beri, Rocky S and Suneet Varma design the high-end product for Tuscan Verve.

The success of jeans in the recent years is led by women's wear with brands producing and promoting perfect fit for every curve and every size. Women make up for the 35 percent of total denim market.

Invention of the low-waist trousers pushed the market even further.

Another driving force for the jeans market is the revival of the 'authentic vintage' or the 'retro'.

Consumers are becoming interested in the old-fashioned jeans styles that have made a huge comeback.

Jeans ranges from Gucci's, which is arguably the most expensive one at US $3000 to Seven, jeans for All Mankind, True Religion and so on.

Jeans is not limited to casual wear but brands like Allen Solly are advertising jeans as a semi-formal work wear.

Analysts predict that denim will continue its climb all through 2006.

Jeans is one outfit for sure, in your closet that will never go out of style!!
