Cosmetic Company Coty Inc and KOSE Corporation have concluded a licensing agreement regarding the manufacture and distribution in Japan of RIMMEL, a cosmetics brand owned by COTY.

Accordingly, KOSE will both import RIMMEL products made in the U.K., and also initiate production based on the licensing agreement, with a launch in the Japanese market in September 2006.

Bernd Beetz, Chief Executive Officer at Coty Inc states, "COTY celebrates joining forces with beauty leader KOSE, setting the platform for successful expansion in Japan.

This alliance offers dynamic business value for both organizations and they look forward to collaborating on exciting new developments for RIMMEL with a trusted, proven innovator in product excellence."

Yasukiyo Kobayashi, President at KOSE Corporation states, "KOSE agreed with COTY, a world leading US beauty company that dynamically handles a wide variety of valuable brands worldwide, that it will distribute RIMMEL brand products in Japan.

RIMMEL is a make-up brand that has been growing dramatically in Europe and the U.S.

The success in this collaboration is expected to advance the business expansion and corporate values of both parties in the future.

Both parties are confident that they are sure to provide Japanese women with new values and great satisfaction."

RIMMEL is a cosmetics brand established in 1874 in London, which enjoys a leading share in the mass-market brand cosmetics category in the U.K. Targeting women in their late teens to late twenties who love London fashion, RIMMEL offers a cool and innovative image of the cutting-edge underground lifestyle with the make-up concept of "The London Look".
