More than thirteen costumes from the award-winning American television drama series Treme will soon go on display at the Cameron Art Museum, located in the US state of North Carolina.

Slated to begin from May 17th, 2013 onwards, the event titled ‘Well Suited: The Costumes of Alonzo Wilson’ will feature a range of colourful Mardi Gras Indian suits, sourced from all the three seasons of the popular TV series.

Designed by the Wilmington native and specialist of Mardi Gras Indian suits, Alonzo Wilson, the exhibits include an elaborate bright yellow coloured costume decorated with orange and red feathers.

In addition to the costumes display, the exhibition also includes design sketches, film stills and behind-the-scenes photography from the famous HBO show, which focuses on the life struggles of New Orleans people after the destructive 2005 Hurricane Katrina.

The exhibit was originally organized by the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans.

Mardi Gras Indians are African-American Carnival revellers in New Orleans, Louisiana, who dress up for Mardi Gras in suits influenced by the Native American ceremonial apparels.
