Several new and established designers showcased their eclectic collections at the just concluded third edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Malta.
Faragé Paris, opened the seven-day-long event with their elaborate fairy-tale like bridal collection. Accentuated with beautiful lace motifs, feathers and endless yards of tulle, the gowns featured guipure lace embroidery and Swarovski crystal embedded detailed necklines.
Fashion label Charles and Ron, by designer duo Ron Van Maarschalkerweerd and Chales Borg, showcased a high-end colourful range titled Feast Patterns on the second day of the event. Celebrating traditional Maltese icons, patterns and motifs, the line included 50s and 60s style vintage feminine dresses with grandiose prints and structured shouldered laser-cut pattern jackets.
UK-based eco-friendly clothing label Fabryan London, by Samantha Jane, presented its latest Autumn/Winter 2013 line at the event. Inspired by the 1950s designs, the elegant and classy womenswear range included luxurious long dresses, pencil skirts, knee-length outfits and blouses in a colour palette of black, white, red and some specks of metallic.
In addition to the expansive display of avant-garde apparel lines, the 15th edition of Malta Fashion Awards was also held during the fashion week.
At the end of Fashion Awards, one very special red Award was given to Adrian J. Mizzi, in recognition of all the work he has done throughout the past fifteen years to promote Maltese talent in the fashion industry.
