The Fast Fashion Lille awards
The judges were Naco Paris, Clivia Nobili, Alexandra Pisco (director of Maisons de Mode), Charlotte Ballu-Gesquière (director of communications at Lille’s Agency), and two Promod designers.
-The Tissu Premier grand prix of 3000 euros was awarded to CHLOÉ PRUNIER - ESMOD ROUBAIX - France
- Second prize, an award of 1500 euros, went to DEBORAH BEARDMORE - UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL LANCASHIRE – Preston – Great Britain
- Third prize, an award of 500 euros, went to ALINE LE PENNEC - LYCÉE SÉVIGNÉ – Tourcoing – France
The panel was impressed not only by the creativity, but by the wearability of the students’ designs from all five of the shortlisted fashion schools: Esmod Berlin for Germany, St Luc for Belgium, University of Central Lancashire for Great Britain, and Esmod Roubaix and Lycée Sévigné for France.
The schools were brought together with the support of Fedustria, GTTI and the Université de l’Europôle Textile, who accompanied the students on a visit to Lille in November last year to attend a talk and follow a recycling trail around Fast Fashion Lille.
The People’s Prize
A ballot box at a public exhibition of the 12 shortlisted silhouettes gave members of the public the chance to vote for their favourite design.
- The People’s Prize, an award of 1000 euros from Eco TLC, went to SARUUL BAATAR - LYCÉE SÉVIGNÉ – Tourcoing – France
The winning silhouettes were created using recycled fabrics provided by Morteleque (non-wovens) and Tissu Premier exhibitors Gulbena and FPP Cotonnades, together with Supertex and Tintex, and show partner U-Clife.
