Dorchester Collection shortlists Fashion Prize finalists

The four finalists have been shortlisted for the 2013 Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize, the winner would be declared on October 29, 2013.
Fyodor Golan, Emilia Wickstead, Huishan Zhang and Barbara Casasola are the designers shortlisted for the prestigious honor. 
Fyodor Golan label is well known for their women’s ready to wear clothing. The designers Fyodor Podgorny and Golan Frydman have previous experiences of working with Alexander Mcqueen, net-a-porter and Raf Simons.
Designer Emilia Wickstead has collaborated with Manohlo Blahnik since 2012 and more recently with Swarovski. She was nominated for the Vogue Fashion Fund in 2013.
Designer Huishan Zhang has worked with the house of Dior whilst studying in Paris, his couture ‘Dragon dress’ has been chosen by London’s V&A museum to become a permanent piece in the T.T TSUI gallery making him the first Chinese contemporary fashion designer to receive the honor.
Brazilian designer Barbara Casasola has worked with labels like Roberto Cavalli, Lanvin and Chloe. She was shortlisted for Milano Unica’s ‘On-Stage’ project and for the Milan Fashion week’s Vogue Talents Corner.
The grand prize which comprises of £25,000 would help the winning designer to develop their own label. The honor also includes a one-to-one mentoring from industry leaders.
Each designer would be asked to stage a catwalk show before a panel of judges which would include renowned stylist and Tank magazine editor Caroline Issa as well as designer Daniella Helayel.
This year's finalists were chosen from ready-to-wear, couture and accessories designers based in the UK, France, Italy, Switzerland and the US. The entry criteria asserted that each designer must have an established brand in operation for a minimum of two years and a maximum of five.
Caroline Issa said that she was delighted by this year’s Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize shortlist that showed overwhelming level of talent and size of promise.
Previous winners of the prize include Thomas Tait, Anndra Neen and Augustin Teboul.
