"This is the first time that the Illis quorum medal is awarded to fashion designers. It's a way to draw attention to fashion's importance as a cultural expression. Margareta van den Bosch and Pär Engsheden have contributed and developed fashion creation in Sweden in their respective fields, she continues.
Margareta van den Bosch gets the medal for a multi-year effort to raise Swedish fashion to international success and to consistently helped to stimulate regrowth of Swedish designers.
Pär Engsheden receive the medal for his skill in design and tailoring helped to develop and maintain quality craftsmanship in fashion creation.
