Michelle Emmerson joins Walpole as Managing Director

Walpole British Luxury, the not-for-profit organisation that represents over 175 British luxury brands including Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Mulberry, Fortnum & Mason, Harrods and Jimmy Choo, to name just a few, announces the appointment of Michelle Emmerson as Managing Director with immediate effect.

Michelle joins Walpole British Luxury from the entrepreneurial and highly successful ASOS.com, where she was Group Services and People Director. ASOS.com is a multi-channel fashion destination, selling a selection of own label, and over 850 global and local brands to customers in 237 countries. Michelle was responsible for business units including: Customer Service, Studios, Production, People and Corporate Responsibility.

Prior to ASOS.com, Michelle held various Board level and senior roles at two other great British brands: BBC Worldwide and EMI Music. She has also worked with the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), the trade association for the UK Music Industry and The Official Charts Company.

Michelle brings a wealth of leadership and operational management experience. Working closely with the Walpole Board and reporting to the Chairman Ben Hughes, Michelle will be responsible for strategy and taking Walpole to the next stage in its evolution.
