The NatWest UK Fashion & Textile Awards are back for 2014, bigger and better than ever. The highly anticipated event run by The UK Fashion and Textile Association (UKFT), will recognise the immense creativity, innovation and success in this thriving industry at a glittering awards gala on the 22nd May 2014 at East London’s iconic Tobacco Dock.

The Awards are the all-encompassing and inclusive celebration of the UK fashion industry – from exciting young design talent and influential brands, to companies proudly manufacturing fashion and textiles here on UK shores.

To mark the launch of the Awards, UKFT have teamed up with celebrated fashion photographer David Goldman to create a striking installation and photo shoot, which brings to life the essence and spirit of the Awards - as well creating as a full behind the scenes campaign providing exclusive access to the build-up and making of the Awards.

Goldman, who’s worked with the likes of GQ, Elle Men, Barbour and Pringle of Scotland shot the bold image which uses weaving looms and threads as its visual inspiration, representing the importance of all these businesses as the vital ‘fabric’ of the industry.

UKFT will be lifting the curtain on The NatWest UK Fashion & Textile Awards for the first time this year with a ‘making of the launch photo shoot, to an exclusive behind the scenes glimpse at the judging day. As champions of the UK fashion industry, UKFT will be sharing the exciting journey right up to the evening of the Awards.

A true celebration of great British fashion, The NatWest UK Fashion & Textile Awards 2014 will see the UK’s hottest emerging designers battle it out for the coveted UKFT Rise Award – previously won by Emma J. Shipley in 2013. Likewise, the Designer Business Award will recognise the huge creative and commercial success of the UK’s most influential and established designers, won last year by Christopher Raeburn.

Reinforcing UKFT’s ongoing support for UK manufacturing, and following the recent launch of UKFT’s ‘Let’s Make it Here’ database, the CapitB UKFT Let’s Make it Here Award will attract the UK’s leading fashion manufacturers.

The Awards are open to members and non-members of UKFT and the deadline for entries is 28th February 2014.

UKFT is proud to be partnering with Save the Children again for the Awards alongside headline sponsor NatWest and other sponsors including CapitB and Utilitywise.
