Likeliest fashion trends to rule 2014

As the countdown for 2014 has already begun, fashion moguls from all around the world have started giving their verdicts on new trends that are likely to rule next year and some timeless looks that would continue to occupy their reigning positions in the coming months.

Among those styles, which undoubtedly would secure their places in fashion lovers’ wardrobes, will be prints. Be it psychedelic, graphic or digital, these quirky prints are going to be seen in their bolder, louder and more vibrant avatars. Evening as well as day wears, adorned with floral, cute animal and Egyptian or Aztec inspired prints, will be a common sight in future.

Another key trend that is going to take the fashion world by storm would be T-shirts, blouses and dresses punched with catchy slogans or logos. From cheeky to witty, the fun ensembles can easily make a fashion statement for their obvious casualness combined with the attention grabbing, interesting messages they deliver.

The jazzy 1990-esque fashion will make a comeback in the following year. With the celebrated French fashion house Balmain’s latest spring/summer 2014 campaign, showcasing a white and gold chain accented denim top and high-waist trouser wearing famous Barbadian recording artist Rihanna, it is easy to assume that the metal-embellished trend has returned to woe fashionistas.

Pleats, the evergreen classic silhouette, will once again make a glorious entry into the fashion world with its flattering for all sizes options. Almost every big industry names such as Christian Dior, Proenza Schouler and Christopher Kane have infused this ageless shape into their latest creations.

In terms of colours, soft icy pastel hues are going to be a big thing in 2014. Tones of dusty rose, lilac, lavender and blue are among the few frosted shades that will capture the hearts of fashion enthusiasts in the days to come.
