Perfect for throwing on over a bikini at the beach, teamed with skyscraper heels and piles of jewellery for a night out or matched with a trilby and shorts for Glastonbury or Coachella; the label seeks to effortlessly take the Rose Amber girl from day-to-night with its range of versatile summer staples, a transformation symbolised by the company’s golden butterfly insignia.
Rose Amber’s launch collection of silk kaftans comes in seven distinct colours: Bluebell (blue), Frangipani (orange), Lily (green), Moondrop (black), Poppy (red), Rose (pink), Violet (purple).
Each Rose Amber creation is handcrafted by Indian artisans, combining the world’s finest fabrics with the delicate handiwork indigenous to the area. The company also donates 5% from each garment sold to The Rose Amber Foundation.
Kaftans were popularised by Balenciaga, Christian Dior and Yves Saint Lauren and are steeped in a storied history that spans the world and dates back centuries. Fashion’s love affair with the kaftan was truly cemented after empress of fashion, legendry tastemaker and former Vogue editor-in-chief, Diana Vreeland came home from a 1960s trip to Morocco, subsequently featuring the garment in a series of celebrated Vogue Italia editorials.
