Designer Sonaakshi debuts exclusive line at charity event

Smile Foundation, a national level development organization showcased their 5th edition of prestigious event Ramp for Champs which aims at raising resources to educate less privileged children on Saturday, April 19th, 2014 at the ITC Grand Central, Parel, Mumbai.
 
This unique event marked a new beginning with involvement of creators of exquisite garments lending their support to the worthy cause of child education. Education is every child’s right and girls are the most neglected ones towards education. Through the funds raised with this initiative, the organisation intends to reroute majority of funds towards girl child education cause. However, still believe there are thousands more who need similar support and encouragement.
 
Young Designer Sonaakshi Raaj with her celebrity clients stepped forward to support the cause, with an exclusive showcase her exclusive of her latest collection dedicated to cause of the girl child for the Smile foundation.
 
The Summer Sorbet collection by Sonaakshi Raaj consists of sari-gowns in satin, georgettes fabric along with appealing racy structured silhouettes and flirty cuts. Intricate texturing and styles in solids and bright pop palettes such as white, black, champagne, peach, etc. shades that never date.
 
Says Sonaakshi Raaj , “My collection caters to womens wear and the cause of a girl child is close to my heart,  hence an ideal platform for me to show my garments. I always wanted to help but didn't know where to begin and who to trust… the Smile Foundation gives me the perfect platform to blend my clothes with a good cause.”
 
The collection is for the modern multi-tasking woman who knows her mind, the endeavour is to strike an emotional chord with the youth as well as the women of today.
 
Krishika Lulla, Evelyn Sharma, Saumya Tandon, Akansksha Aggarwal,  Walusha Robinson, Anita Raaj , Malvika Raaj and stylist Ami Patel walked the ramp to for Sonaakshi Raaj and Smile foundation.  Stunning showstopper Sushmita Sen wore a gold ruched one shoulder sari-gown when she walked the ramp for designer Sonaakshi Raaj . Sushimta truly looked like a Greecian goddess.
 
Sonaakshi Raaj who has styled debutants Tiger Shroff and Kirti Sanon for their soon to be released movie, Heropanti was supported by the presence of both the young actors at the show. Kriti Sanon wore a midnight blue couture Sonaakshi gown with embroidered sheer back.
 
Adds Sonaakshi, “All these wonderful women who have stepped forward to support the cause of the girl child will be turned out in striking ensembles to showcase my latest line. All achievers in their own right, their personality compliments the garments perfectly.”
 
Talking about the starry event, Mr.Vikram Singh Verma, COO, Smile Foundation said “Through Ramp of Champs we aim to bring high fashion and the power of celebrities in aid of the least fortunate among our children. Moreover education is the most effective tool that can help the less privileged section of society to come out of vicious cycle of poverty and suffering. Through Ramp for Champs we try to bring education empowerment in the lives of more & more children.”
