Several young and seasoned designers showcased their latest autumn-winter collections at the just held 11th edition of Uruguayan fashion fest Montevideo Fashion Week.

The four-day event highlighted an array of prêt-a-porter, haute couture and leather garments as well as handmade textiles and accessories from talents belonging to Spain, Portugal, Uruguay and Latin American countries like Argentina and Brazil.

Ronaldo Fraga, the world famous Brazilian fashion designer and a regular participant of Sao Paulo, Milan, London, Madrid and New York fashion weeks, showcased his Brazilian painter Candido Portinari’s work-inspired range ‘The secret notebooks Portinari’.

Made from linen, silk, cotton and biodegradable Amnio, the line included handmade crochet dresses, stylish fluid numbers and embroidered jackets in white, orange and blue colours.

Uruguay-based textile artist of Swedish origin Siv Anneli Göransson showcased merino wool made collection, inspired from the Swedish and Hollywood film actress of the silent and classic era Greta Garbo.

Drawing inspiration from the Caribbean islands, the Colombian designer Judy Hazbun created his line Glow, which featured a variety of contemporary functional garments in multiple hues and textures.

Apart from the above mentioned labels, names like Mónica González, Victoria Mondada, Paul Koper and Goranssen Siv also presented their latest lines of exquisite apparels.
