Roaring Twenties & Hollywood dazzle Barcelona Bridal Week

Designer Miquel Suay opened the fourth and final day of Barcelona Bridal Week with a Roaring Twenties-inspired ultra-feminine range crafted from organza, silk chiffon, lace and sheer materials as well as stylish men’s communion wear.

Decorated with lace overlays, plunging backs, mesh embroidered illusion necklines, and geometric and art deco details, the 2015 collection included straight skirts with thigh high slits, lace camisoles and long sleeve gowns. The men’s line featured three-piece bow-tie suits replete with iridescent jewel toned jackets in gold and maroon hues.

Jesús Vargas Pedro Fuentecapala presented a contemporary men’s bridal range, divided into four themes—Class, Preppy, Slang and Wag. Made using fabrics like velvet, satin and silk, the white, navy blue and salmon hued collection included geometric and floral printed tuxedo jackets, morning coats, bow ties and divided skirts worn on top of pants.

Juana Martin infused a lot of Flamenco fashion elements in the latest True Love bridal collection. Made using Chantilly lace, chiffon, tulle, crepe and Mikado silk fabrics, the dresses were adorned with huge rosettes, asymmetrical pleats and ruffles.

The golden era of Hollywood (1940s and 1950s) played as the source of inspiration for designer Carla Ruiz’s latest 2015 line. Yesteryear’s divas like Katherine Hepburn and Grace Kelly played as muses for the eveningwear heavy green, lavender and pastel shaded collection, crafted from muslin and gauze fabrics.
