Ashima Leena's 'Jashn' sparkles at BMW IBFW ramp

The sixth edition of BMW India Bridal Fashion Week 2014 in association with AZVA at DLF Emporio, New Delhi on day 2 had an amazing start with 'Jashn' by designers Ashima and Leena.

The collection depicted the story of a travelling caravan of royal indulgence. An oasis in the pale shadows, depicted through water-bodies with handpicked, floating flowers. Moorish mood tents draped in beautiful, simple muslins. Ornamental details found in lanterns, saddles, campaign furniture and delicate glass lamps. Drapes of perfume scented fabric supported with blithe bamboos, scallops bordering them going on for miles, just like the traveler himself.

The collection had playful colors dipped in varied palettes, discovering new combinations. There was an exuberant display of contemporary and cultural styles. Paying a tribute to the complexities of hand embroidery, the work of the rangrez and to the simplistic complication of love itself, Jashn was a delight to experience.

The stage was masterfully done with real sand that replicated the sand dunes of the far away Arabian desserts. Live music by Gaurav Raina of Midivial Punditz, vocals by Kutle Khan who sang mystic sufi songs and Pandit Ajay Prasanna on the flute made the whole experience fabulous and God like. Super model and showstopper of the show, Ujjwala Rawat made a runway come back with a spectacular multi colored, full circled lehenga choli. She dazzled with her smile and poise.

The show was opened by Nonika Chaterjee in a pastel pink floral embroidered sharara outfit. The delicate floral embroidery and thread work on all garments added its feminine touch yet looked traditional in all dimensions. The multi colored stone work in jewel tones looked vibrant.

With top Indian designers showcasing their collections at the BMW India Bridal Fashion Week 2014, the event and the fabulous setting of DLF Emporio – India’s first and finest luxury destination – makes it one of the greatest shows in the country. The name BMW has always spelt aesthetics, design and quality of a very high standard, which will perfectly synchronize with the joy, beauty and grandeur of Indian weddings and bridal wear. Indian bridal fashion is haute couture of the ultimate kind that reveals precision and perfect craftsmanship, which resonates perfectly with the BMW brand values.
