The Swedish fashion chain Lindex has roped in French haute couturier Jean Paul Gaultier to create a collection based on the designer’s signature design codes and prints.

Replete with both classic and graphic forms of sailor stripes as well as tattoo prints, the range will feature womenswear, kidswear, innerwear and an array of fashion accessories.

Slated to be launched in selected Lindex stores and at on October 8th, 2014, the ensembles will be detailed with zippers and Gautier’s legendary cone shapes made famous by the American singer-songwriter Madonna who wore a conical shaped bra, which later reached a cult status, during her 1990’s Blond Ambition World Tour.

“Making a collection like this is a challenge but a very positive one. It allows me to see other people that I don't work with usually, it also allows me to make my clothes at a price level that is affordable,” says the design veteran in a statement.

The yet-to-be-released collection is modelled by the British model, singer-songwriter and guitarist Karen Elson.

Ten percent of the sales from the Jean Paul Gaultier for Lindex collection will go to breast cancer research.

Founded in 1954, the fast fashion specialist Lindex operates over 480 stores in Scandinavia, the Baltic States, Russia, central Europe and the Middle East. Part of the part of the Finnish-listed Stockmann group, the company specializes in womenswear, menswear, kidswear and lingerie.

Known for his two namesake labels- Jean Paul Gaultier (ready-to-wear) and Gaultier PARIS (couture), the 62-year-old, who is also known as the enfant terrible of the industry, has also worked as creative director for the French leatherwear specialist Hermès from 2003 to 2010.
