Meant for women of all shapes and sizes, the 22-year-old’s new line includes some 18 pieces that have been named after strong and influential women who embody female empowerment and are strong role models for girls and women.
The ensembles have been named after the likes of Nancy Reagan, Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Sappho, Boudicca, Sheryl Sandberg, Folorunsho, Rosa Parks, Malala Yousafzai, Eva Peron, Arianna Huffington, Betty Friedan, Marilyn Monroe, Jane Austen, Gwen Stefani, and Emily Dickinson.
Replete with elastic waistbands, the affordably priced small, medium and large sized pieces include sequined pencil skirts, vegan python print shorts, classically woven sweaters, skirts and blouses in a palette of blush, pearl and charcoal hues.
While speaking on the inspiration behind the collection, Simmons says “I'm extremely passionate about body image and want to be an advocate and role model to other young women to encourage them to embrace who they are and what makes them unique. My collection is designed to inspire women of different shapes and sizes to take risks when dressing but still feel confident.”
Daughter of legendary KISS bassist Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed-Simmons, the Los Angeles-based designer is the founder and owner of Sophie’s Place- a charitable organized based in Vancouver which provides a place of sanctuary and support for vulnerable young people.
