Sports Authority launches plus-size activewear for women

Colorado-based sporting goods retailer Sports Authority has launched two new plus-size activewear collections for women under its Aspire and Alpine Design lines.
Made using comfortable moisture-wicking stretch fabrics, the stylish and affordable pieces, which can be layered to create complete head-to-toe looks, are suitable for both cross-functional yoga and outdoor activities.
Speaking on the new assortment, Stephen Binkley, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer of the Englewood company, said in a media statement, “We are thrilled about the launch of our new plus-size apparel line. Our plus-size customers have been asking for great fitting activewear and sportswear in extended sizing, and we are happy to accommodate this request by offering trend-right functional options at affordable prices.”
Available in sizes 1X–3X, the Aspire plus-size has been developed keeping the casual athletic and leisurewear trend in mind. Focusing on comfort and style, the line includes fashion essentials like tank tops, T-shirts, capris and pants.
Alpine Design offers apparels with UPF protection which adds functionality for a variety of outdoor activities. It features core tanks, T-shirts, button-down sun shirts, casual shorts, capris, tech skorts and convertible maxi dresses. This line’s woven and knit tops are available in sizes 1X–3X, and casual and technical bottoms in sizes 16W–24W. (PB)
