Inditex BOD agrees to appoint Pablo Isla as new CEO

Spanish fashion company Inditex BOD has agreed to appoint Mr. Pablo Isla Álvarez de Tejera as new director, in his twofold capacity as Board member and Chief Executive Officer, as well as member of the Executive Committee of the Board.

Mr. Isla, 41, is a graduate in Law from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid and abogado del Estado [State lawyer]. He has chaired the Board of Directors of the Altadis Group, which he has also co-chaired since July, 2000. From 1992 to 1996 he was Head of Legal Services at the Banco Popular Español. Later, he was appointed General Director of State Assets at the Ministry of Economy and Finances. In 1998 he returned to the Banco Popular as General Counsel, until joining the Altadis Group.

Other resolutions
The Board of Directors resolved to accept the resignation of Mr. Fred H. Langhammer and the appointment of Mr. José Luis Vázquez Mariño, independent director, as member of the Executive Committee, the Audit and Control Committee, and the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

Inditex is one of the worlds largest fashion distributors, with eight sales formats -Zara, Pull and Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, Zara Home y Kiddy's Class- boasting 2.381 stores in 57 countries.

The Inditex Group is comprised of over one hundred companies associated with the business of textile design, manufacturing and distribution.
