JoS. A. Bank Clothiers same-store sales gain 15.9% in July

Clothing retailer JoS. A. Bank Clothiers Inc announced that its total sales for the fiscal month ended July 29, 2006 (fiscal July 2006) increased 28.0% to $34.7 million, as compared with $27.1 million in fiscal July 2005.

Comparable store sales increased 15.9% in fiscal July 2006, as compared with the fiscal month of July 2005, while combined catalog and internet sales increased 34.0%.

Total sales for the second fiscal quarter ended July 29, 2006 increased 20.8% to $119.1 million compared with $98.6 million in the comparable prior year period. Comparable store sales increased 10.1% in the second fiscal quarter ended July 29, 2006, while combined catalog and internet sales increased 18.8%.

Total sales for the fiscal six months ended July 29, 2006 increased 19.3% to $232.8 million compared with $195.2 million in the comparable prior year period. Comparable store sales increased 7.4% in the fiscal six months ended July 29, 2006, while combined catalog and internet sales rose 21.8%.

JoS. A. Bank Clothiers Inc, established in 1905, is one of the nation's leading retailers of men's classically-styled tailored and casual clothing, sportswear, footwear and accessories. It sells its full product line through 340 stores in 40 states and the District of Columbia, a nationwide catalog.
