The Philadelphia-based Dah-veese label will make its New York debut during Couture Fashion Week in September 2005.
The runway show and after party will be held on Thursday, September 8 at 8:00 p.m. at West Side Loft, 336 West 37th Street (between 8th and 9th Avenues), New York City.
The "Evolution" collection for Spring/Summer 2006 by designer Darnell (Jewell) Davis is edgy and creative, yet soft and contemporary appealing to today's modern woman.
The dynamic Dah-veese designer combines signature denim with unexpected fabric combinations: fine silk organza, silk dupioni, silk taffeta, silk linen and cotton with an emphasis on angles, dimension, depth and texture.
The collection's color palette is inspired earth tones -- from vibrant sun rays and sky blues to the darkness of turned soil.
"The talent and tenacious spirit of this creative young designer is truly inspiring," says producer Andres Aquino of USA INTERNATIONAL FASHION SHOWS. "We are excited to be part of his entrance onto the New York fashion scene."
Native New Yorker Darnell Davis began designing hand stitched t-shirts as a means to support his struggling music career. He created a 72-piece t-shirt collection, hand sewing everything from the inner labels to the raised felt chest logo.
After working with a local store in Delaware and seeing his collection sell out in 2 weeks, Mr. Davis turned all his creative energies to fashion, creating the Dah-veese label in 1995.
