In an operation at a jewellery store in Istanbul, police seized a collection of 84 pieces of historical jewellery that belonged to Urartian King Sarduri II.
This operation started after Financial Crimes Enforcement officials were informed of a manager at a jeweller in Eminönü's copper bazaar trying to sell historical artifacts.
In this connection, Police arrested one person known by the name of Abdulkadir Tekin.
It was later discovered that he had obtained the jewellery from an acquaintance in Van, in eastern Turkey.
