When jewellery designer Pippa Small along with her sister Alex checked in their new flat, she was to do Anthropology but a subsequent visit to India changed her heart.
She acknowledged that trip to India had a special influence on their mind and was visible in the decoration of their home.
Each wall, floor and cupboard available is a layer cake of trinkets collected from their trips around the world. Pippa enjoys every moment of her life in the flat terming it as her base camp.
She informed that she spends half the year in Rajasthan, India visiting the stonecutters and goldsmiths. She also works on initiatives in crafts with tribesmen in places like Rwanda and Panama.
Pippa says that she cannot resist the temptation of buying textile, stones, dolls, painting from wherever she goes as a token and they are kept in her house.
She has her workshop in her home precisely for the above reason as she uses uncut gems, shells and gold to prepare her jewellery. Celebrities like Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston and Mick Jagger do not hesitate to go through the chaos to reach her workshop.
