Richard P. Crystal, Chairman and CEO stated: "We were pleased with our December sales results, as our well-executed holiday promotional programs drove increased transactions in our stores. During the month, we experienced sales strength in our sweater, activewear, pant, handbag and belt businesses, which more than offset weakness in certain cold weather products. We believe we are well positioned as we begin the final month of the year."

The Company opened two new stores in December, ending the month with 570 stores and 3.4 million selling square feet in operation.
