Prescription spectacles may join Titan's product range

Titan Industries is plans to foray into the prescription spectacles market as part of its expansion.

The company is conducting survey and will take a decision within a couple of months. Titan has presence in the sunglasses market under the brand-name “Fastrack”.

The company will revive various related sectors. The prescription spectacles market is a good option for the company to widen its product range, said a senior official of Titan.

Titan is also planning to launch its third brand 'Xylus' by the end, this year. The new brand will be competing against the Swiss-made watches being imported into India. Xylus will be priced in the Rs 15,000 - Rs 30,000 range.

However, its launch is facing some obstacles because of its certain case models not really gelling into the 60-odd variants being planned with this watch brand.

The company is expected to invest nearly Rs 6 crore for launch for this finest brand.
