ABIT promotes Business Meeting in the Northeast

Northeastern companies of the textile and apparel sector will have the opportunity to exhibit their products and do business with international buyers during the Business Meeting in the Northeast, promoted by ABIT, with support from the Agency for Promotion of Exports and Investments (APEX-Brazil), through the Texbrasil program.

Meetings will take place during the month of March in three cities: Fortaleza (CE), on the 8th and 9th; Recife (PE), 12th and 13th and João Pessoa (PB) on the 14th and 15th, counting on the partnership of institutions at each of these locations.

ABIT is bringing to Brazil 11 foreign buyers to participate in the business round. They represent companies based in Portugal, Spain, Costa Rica, South Africa, Jamaica and Colombia. During the meeting, these professionals will have the opportunity to examine the Brazilian products and make deals.

There will be items of the jeanswear, beach, casual, fitness and underwear segments, as well as women´s, men´s and children´s fashion. All participating companies have been through the ABIT Product Suitability Clinic, when they received guidance on how to adapt their products to the international market. In the case of the Northeast, regional influences are the major differentials, highlighting the Brazilian identity.

The Texbrasil Program was implemented in 2001, with the goal of enabling and promoting Brazilian textile and apparel products, aiming the introduction of companiesof the sector to the world market, and, consequently, an increase in exports. In six years, over 750 Brazilian companies participated in the Program, which for the 2007/2007 biennial foresees over 200 actions in Brazil and abroad.
