Sears Canada evokes Lapiere brand children's outfits

Online cataloger Sears Canada has been advised that the metal buttons on a Genevieve Lapiere brand girl's 2-piece outfit and a boy's 3-piece outfit may come off creating a possible choking hazard.
The girl's 2-piece outfit fits toddlers 16 - 30lbs and consists of a pink long-sleeve bodysuit and a denim jumper. The item number is 51279 and the retail price is $34.99.
The boy's 3-piece outfit fits toddlers 16 - 30lbs and consists of a long sleeve beige top with a denim vest and denim pants. The item number is 51280 and the retail price is $39.99.
The item number is on the care tag located on the neck of the outfits. Both outfits were sold in Sears department stores only since June 2005.
Although there have been no reported choking incidents, customers who have these outfits should stop using them and return them to a Sears department store for a full refund. The receipt (bill of sale) is not required.
Sears Canada immediately pulled the item off sale and will be posting signs in all of its retail stores to advise customers of this recall.
Toronto based multi-channel retailer Sears, where more Canadians spend more of their fashion dollars than anywhere else in Canada, currently has 122 full-line department stores, 49 Sears Home stores, over 2,200 catalogue merchandise pick-up locations, 152 dealer stores, 13 outlet stores, 50 floor covering centres, 4 Mattress and Appliance stores, 2 Coverings stores, 113 Sears Travel offices and a nationwide home maintenance, repair, and installation network.
