Danish design award winner DAY BIRGER et MIKKELSEN is opening their first store in London during September 2005. The store location is 133a Sloane Street, London, SW11 close to both Sloane Square and the Kings Road.

For a long time DAY BIRGER et MIKKELSEN has been interested in opening their own store in London, but has been searching for the right location to compliment the DAY vision. We now believe we have achieved this and the area lends itself beautifully to Day's sophisticated, bohemian and glamorous ethos.

A side from this being the first DAY Store in London it is at the same time DAY BIRGER et Mikkelsen first own store outside of Denmark, the country of the brands origin.

It is no coincidence that DAY has chosen London to be the first store outside of Denmark. Over the past few years DAY Birger et Mikkelsen UK has achieved wider consumer interest due to selected and controlled distribution growth. Recently the UK Trade magazine 'Drapers Record' listed DAY Birger et Mikkelsen as one of the top 6 best selling premium womenswear labels within the UK.

Late 1997, DAY BIRGER et MIKKELSEN was born as the creative brainchild of the businessman, Keld Mikkelsen. DAY BIRGER et MIKKELSEN was to be a clothing brand with the main challenge to create design with personality that put a bit of party in every DAY dressing, for work or play.

DAY BIRGER et MIKKELSEN had its first Autumn/Winter collection available in carefully selected retail shops, mainly in Scandinavia, in August 1998. Less than a year later in March 1999, DAY BIRGER et MIKKELSEN won the very prestigious Danish Design Award 'The Golden Button'.
