Silk Street introduces its own brand

Silk Street being one of the famous textile and clothing wholesales and retail market in Beijing, has introduced its own brand since the beginning of 2008. The shopping center that accommodates over 1,700 retail vendors, is one of the famous tourist spots, for a varied selection of imitation designer brand apparels.

At present, Silk Street has launched some products under its brand including shirts, neckties, scarves, however, most of the booths and shops in the center still sell the products of other brands.

Sources from the market informed that they are determined to set up the brand by the end 2008, and by then all retailers present here would sell these products. Further, they have plans to enter other marketplaces at home and abroad.

Apart from selling fashion apparels and accessories such as hats, handbags, shoes, belts, sportswear, silk fabrics like their predecessor, the new Silk Street have introduced traditional Chinese handicrafts, antiques, calligraphy, carpets, table cloths, bed coverings, paintings, hand-knit dresses, toys, electronic gadgets, trinkets, and fine jewelry.

The experts said that it is very difficult to set up a brand within one year, but, Silk Street enjoys some advantages. It is very famous among the tourists, and 2008 Olympic Games will bring a huge business opportunity, as the company has come up with 'one-stop shopping solution' for the visitors in Beijing.
