Deepika flaunts her collection of appealing & stylish fabrics

Using highly textural compositions, Deepika Govind brought us two fashion stories which are significant for her eco-related ideology.
The two themes 'Conference Of The Birds' and 'Concert Of The Sea' reflected the designer's concern with regard to an ailing environment through vibrant colours, appealing fabrics and smart styling details.
The feminine western as well as Indian silhouettes showed clear cut coordinated panels and layers of jacquards and prints.
The colour red was used as a dash to highlight self textured natural materials with hand woven, rough and natural hand feel. Red borders, incorporated woven lines, printed details and trims were used to accentuate classic cuts.
Focus was put to shoulders which were originally shaped through efficient construction details such as gathers, pleats and boxy caps. Saris had cut work border as well as draped and rushed features.
The colour story related clearly to the natural inspiration and included deep rich hues of the flora and fauna under water: coral red, sea green, ocean blue, aquamarine and sea anemone were combined.
Gracefully cut fluid dresses were treated with washed out water colour prints which were representing the submarine life in the form of florals and organic motifs.
