Chic glamour of bygone era rules in Adiseshan's Metro look

It was a collection that reflected chic glamour of the 50s and 60s when romance ruled the silver Bollywood screen.

Kaushie Adiseshan's Retro in the Metro look for Autumn/Winter 2008 at Lakme Fashion Week had all the drama, glitz and pizzazz as creations in dazzling shades of emerald, ruby and onyx floated down the ramp.

Indian hues were vibrantly used for clinched waist camisole dresses with rhinestone straps, 'A' line ensembles and sexy tops and draped minis.

From the opening strappy empire line textured silk mini the stage was set for a wide range of dresses - some knee length, hipster pants and a two finely tailored coats.

Fabrics ranged from satin silk, brushed silk, stretch cotton and cotton which were ideal for the silhouettes which Kaushie had created.

Some of the eye catchers were the white with swirls of gold fabrics for asymmetric hem dresses worn with gold belts and definitely the stunning red frock coats with rear tie-ups.

Most of the silhouettes could easily transgress from the discos of Mumbai to the lounges of San Francisco where Kaushie's Pink Elf label has an eager clientele around the globe.

Here was a collection that women will long for as they dream of dressing up like Madhubala, Zeenat Aman and Saira Bano - some of yesteryear's fabulous divas.
