Enjoy outdoor fun with Heelys

Heelys Inc, the youth sports lifestyle company, is encouraging kids to get off the couch and enjoy outdoor fun and physical activity this spring and summer. To keep heeling enjoyable, Heelys is offering its top 10 tips:

• Read all of the instructional information that comes with your Heelys footwear prior to using them.

• When wearing Heelys wheeled footwear, always stagger your feet with your strong foot in front – putting them side by side will result in your feet sliding out from under you.

• When walking with the wheels in, do not lean back on your heels and make sure to walk with your toes touching the ground first.

• Be extra cautious when heeling on an uneven surface – debris and crevices can cause sudden stops and uncontrolled movements.

• Never heel faster than you can walk. If you feel like you are losing balance, step out of heeling by putting your toes down and lean forward.

• Stay hydrated in the spring and summer fun by drinking water and fruit beverages and remember your sunscreen!

• Crowded public areas are not good places for heeling, skateboarding, kickboarding or push scootering. Be careful not to cause inconvenience to others by running into them or cutting them off.

• Be careful not to endanger others' safety or your own.

• Follow the rules in public places – if there is no heeling, make sure to take out your wheels.

• Respect others' rights to enjoy publicplaces just as you do.
