Custom Fashion Event debuts at MS&K

Setting the bar high (pun intended) for Fashion and Charity events, MS&K and LA's newest concept clothier Jeffrey Zig Bespoken hosted a day of private shopping at Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp.

Throughout the day lawyers, staff and interns alike stopped in the conference room between their billable hours and milled through beautiful displays of sample suits, designer fabrics, custom shoes, seven-fold silk ties and other luxury accessories from Jeffrey Zig Bespoken.

Each customer was treated to a one-on-one consultation with up-and-coming LA designer Billy Noble and the Zig staff, and measured for custom wardrobes designed and accessorized to meet their personal fashion preferences. Said Jeff Miller, CEO and Founder of Jeffrey Zig Bespoken, “Whether classic or contemporary… our suits are fashionable, stylish and always custom made to suit the customer's individual lifestyle.”

Top-gun litigator Steve Foster said of the event, “It made me realize that, after shopping at Nordstrom's for a decade, it is not the place to go for great suits and great service.”

Sabrina Shaffer from Otabo – a custom shoemaker renowned for their world-class dress, golf and orthopedic footwear – also participated in Zig's Fashion Event. The custom shoe collection is sized using 3D scans of each customer's feet and custom styled by customers for silhouette, leather, pattern details, embellishments, broguing, ornaments, and outsoles. Following suit with Zig's charitable contribution, Otabo made a donation of custom shoes to support the event's charity. “We now have many 'happy feet' at MS&K!” said a summer intern.

In addition to successfully outfitting the firm in custom fashions, MS&K and Zig raised over $18K for LA charity Chrysalis with proceeds from the event's sales. Chrysalis www.changelives.org is the only independent nonprofit in Los Angeles County exclusively dedicated to assisting homeless and economically disadvantaged men and women to secure and maintain employment.

Miller plans to continue the charitable aspect of his fashion events and will contribute to other nonprofits associated with his clients, along with Project Pinstripes www.projectpinstripes.com – a charity established by Zig to outfit returning veterans entering the job market.

Following the success of Zig's debut event and profuse accolades from MS&K Staff, Miller hopes to see other LA law firms and businesses take up the challenge of hosting events to benefit their employees and local charities. Zig has already booked a second Fashion Event at MS&K and plans to introduce his retail model to other offices in the LA area – bringing the finest custom fashions right to their conference rooms, at a discounted price, while raising money for local charities.

Miller noted: “This is sure to become one of LA's latest fashion trends. In-office Fashion Events are an ideal way to shop when you're either too busy, don't have good fashiondirection, or find off-the-rack clothing to be ill-fitting. Not to mention, we are able to offer the likes of Zegna and Marzoni of Italy, John Cooper of Savile Row, and many more designer fabrics at a very reasonable, very competitive price in this difficult economic environment; and contribute to charity. It's a classic win-win.”
