II Paraná Business Collection sees R$ 4.5 mn in activity

The showroom at the II Paraná Business Collection, held from 7/28 to 8/1 at the Horácio Sabino Coimbra Expo Center in Curitiba, generated R$ 4.5 million in business (closed and prospected), 80% more than the first edition in 2007.
Nearly 600 buyers were able to check out the novelties and do business with the 36 Paraná brand exhibiters.
“The business showroom was able to integrate production and retail as well as create relationship channels between micro and small business owners and large brands, storeowners and sales representatives. All had the common objective of showing their work and doing business.
This type of experience is very important," underscores Sebrae/PR director-superintendent, Allan Marcelo de Campos Costa.
There are nearly five thousand clothing industries in Paraná, most of which are micro and small businesses.
The textile and apparel sector produces 150 million pieces per year, generates 90 thousand jobs and has average annual gross earnings of R$ 4 billion.
Paraná is one of the main clothing producing centers in Brazil.
The state ranks fourth in the national ranking of Textile and Apparel GDP share with estimated financial activity of US$ 2.6 billion, equal to 8.17% of the national total.
