Gant Home makes a perfect frame for the fall collection

This fall Gant returns to New York, the place where it all began. Here, in the late forties, Bernhard Gant put his name on a shirt for the very first time.

For the fall of 2008, Gant Home once again finds inspiration in this city of contrasts. Eye-opening meetings between materials, styles and colors build a collection that creates a true sense of home, right in the middle of Manhattan.

To leave the hustle of 24th Street and take the elevator to the eleventh floor loft is to travel between two worlds. The metropolis glitters outside the windows, but under the high ceiling-beams a beautifully-set dinner table sharpens the appetite, the corner of a sofa invites you to snuggle down, and fresh linen on the bed promises the perfect end to the evening.

In our new catalog you'll meet the family whose life and home make a perfect frame for the fall collection, for this season's theme turns on the dime of dynamic contrasts.

The collection expresses a whole based on congruent polarities. It's a way to create an inspiring and vibrant home even as the darkness of fall sets in around you. The encounter between midnight black leather and winter-white cashmere expresses the essence of the collection.

Masculine versus feminine, nuances of light against dark, and rustic charm counterpointing elegance are other strong combinations.

Our new color scheme shifts from rich nuances of burgundy, camel and forest green to bright red, black and white. Classic patterns from traditionally masculine fashion, such as pinstripe, paisley and lumberjack plaid, are softened by the feminine detailing in intricate embroideries and perfect pleats.

The choice of materials is effective and often striking. Cashmere throws piped with suede and satin sheets with a silk feel lend the bedroom an elegant ambience, while canvas, tweed and corduroy lead the mind to an upstate log cabin.

The sofa becomes an alluring enclave for the cocktail hour with pillows made of the softest lambskin, or a nest for family coziness cushioned with velvets and knits.

With comfortable towels in all the colors of fall, the bathroom mood matches the signature of a very special home. Linen napkins and starry breakfast china give Sunday brunches in the kitchen all the charm of starting the day in your favorite hotel.

It's the accessories that do the job. As always with Gant Home, a few carefully chosen items from the latest collection can refresh the impression of a whole living space and enrich the lifestyle of its owner.
