New concept of GDS meets with acceptance

“The fashion statement of GDS was right to the point, the programme of accompanying information events an asset for every retailer although many of them still have to get used to the new “routing”. It is good to see that many retailers have used GDS again as an information and order platform. After all, transparency is now key for retail. And GDS has “explained”
the coming season very well.”

Italian prime label Attilio Giusti Leombruni also looks back on a successful trade fair: “There were some more customers at our stand than before including excellent new contacts from Russia,” said owner Attilio Giusti delighted with customer numbers. “Despite the difficult current situation retailers have placed some nice orders with us. To us GDS is an indispensable trade fair.”

At GDS and GLOBAL SHOES altogether 1,269 exhibitors from 40 countries present the shoe fashion for Spring/Summer 2009 on exhibition space measuring 153,000 m². 820 exhibitors with just under 2,000 collections were accounted for by GDS, 449 exhibitors by GLOBAL SHOES.

Next year GDS will run at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre from 13 to 15 March and from 11 to 13 September 2009. GLOBAL SHOES will take place from 12 to 14 March and from 10 to 12 September 2009, once again one day out of sync with GDS.
