L.A International textile show to begin from Oct 27

The upcoming Los Angeles International Textile Show will be held at the California Market Center (CMC) from October 27-29, 2008. For the CMC, 2008 marks the fifteenth year of the show's existence as the primary textile-sourcing destination on the west coast.

Since 1993, the LA Int'l Textile Show has been at the forefront of the industry. This upcoming Autumn-Winter '09-'10 LA Int'l Textile Show will feature hundred of exhibitors from around the world, an opening night “Fashion Flock” cocktail reception & KOTRA Fashion Show, trend galleries, complimentary seminars, an eco-lounge and more.

In past seasons, The California Market Center has provided a solid display of international textile exhibitors. A continued focus of the CMC, the October show will feature returning international exhibitor group, Korean Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), presenting “Global Korea Textile Week”.

KOTRA will be highlighting an extended selection of Korea's top mills in the Fashion Theater and Annex in the Main Lobby as well as on the Penthouse level (Floor 13). Also showcasing in the Penthouse (Floor 13) is the French Fabric Pavilion presented by EspaceTextile.

Also featured throughout the LA Int'l Textile show are numerous trend forcasting resource displays for attendees. A Trend Gallery showing the season's primary trends illustrated in an interactive fabric & trim display will be located in the main lobby.

Color Card guides are available for purchase depicting Autumn-Winter colors in four Pantone alettes. An Eco Lounge will highlight “green” materials and will be located in the Penthouse (Floor 13). An installation display, “Fashion as Art” will showcase Rootstein mannequins wearing Solstiss-Bucol's silk and lace, located in the main lobby.

“We want to be sure we are more then just a trade show. The CMC provides attendees with a first-class, inspirational and personally attentive experience at the LA Int'l Textile Show. That is why we are constantly seeking out interesting and new trend displays, relevant and helpful seminars, and of course, the top exhibitors,” says Joanne Lee, Senior Vice President of CMC Services.

Complimentary seminars are a staple of the LA Int'l Textile Show and this season is no different. The seminars will include presentations from WGSN, Peclers Paris, Promostyl, Woolworks, Cotton Inc, Lenzing, Fashion Business Inc (FBI), Design Options, About Sources, Business Management Systems (BMS), and others. All the seminars will be located in suite C700 and are free and open to registered attendees.

On October 27, 2008, the opening night of the LA Int'l Textile Show, KOTRA together with the Korea Federation of Textile Industries, the CMC and Fashion Group International LA (FGI LA) will present “FUSION” - a runway show highlighting fashions from the Fall-Winter 2009 collections from Korea.

The runway show will introduce young and contemporary women's apparel and accessories along with distinct fabrics designed and produced by Korean firms and textile mills. Prior to the Runway Show, FGI LA will co-host a “Fashion Flock” cocktail reception. “Fusion” will take place on the front patio of the CMC and will start at 5pm with the runway show beginning at 6pm.

Some of the top exhibitors at this LA Int'l Textile Show editon include, LeLoup Blanc, Schoeller, Mectex, Solstiss-Bucol, Deveaux and many more. In addition to the upcoming Los Angeles International Textile Show October 27-29, 2008 the first LA International Textile Show of 2009 has been scheduled for April 14 – April 16, 2009 for the Spring / Summer '10 season.
