COS to open store in Covent Garden in spring 2009

Spring 2009 will see COS open its third UK store within St. Martin's Courtyard, central London's new shopping and lifestyle destination. The concept behind St. Martin's Courtyard is to create an innovative and stylish retreat offering the shopper a perfect place to shop and socialize. The store will be located at 130/131 Long Acre with 450m2 of retail space.
“We are excited to announce the addition of this new COS store and to be part of the new St. Martins Courtyard and the changing face of Covent Garden.” says Pernilla Wohlfahrt, Buying and sales Director of COS.
COS continues to develop a high quality design aesthetic that is fashionable but wearable and that pays homage to iconic pieces from the feminine and masculine wardrobes while questioning their function and form. For Spring / Summer 2009, the white shirt, the little black dress, the pencil skirt, the polo, the perfect blazer, pair of trousers or the coat that will transform a look; through draping, volume and architecture but that never appears over-worked are all part of the story.
Crucial to COS' burgeoning fashion stance is its commitment to design and affordability, where meticulously produced garments are anything but skyrocket in price.
COS launched on London's Regent Street in March 2007. COS is part of the H&M group. COS compliments H&M in sharing the same business concept - 'fashion and quality at the best price' - only COS prices start where H&M's finish. The increased price level allows COS to deliver product with a higher quality. COS has a wide product range that is divided into a number of different concepts, incorporating fashion essentials, reinvented classics and the latest trends for men and women.
COS is predominantly created by an in-house design team of designers and buyers. COS has 13 stores in five countries (UK, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark and Belgium). The new Covent Garden and the first Paris Store are planned for Spring 2009 bringing the total number of stores to 15.
