Assessment of the Pret a Porter Paris Fair

PRET A PORTER PARIS, in a difficult economic context, brought together 40,484 visitors, representing a decrease of 2% compared to the session of January 2008 (41,286 visitors).
The makeup of the visitors was distributed as follows:
- 58 % French visitors
- 42 % foreign visitors
The European Union has risen slightly.
Also to be noted is the number of visits from multiple countries such as the United States, Russia, Netherlands, Korea, Turkey, Sweden and Canada… as part of a total of 45 different countries. PRET A PORTER PARIS has thus reconfirmed its status as the leading international fashion rendezvous.
The hit-parade:
- Italy
- Spain
- Belgium
- The United Kingdom
- Japan
The high place of Japan should be noted which is now ranked in fifth position.
The fair reference:
The fair was opened by Monsieur Hervé Novelli, Secretary of State in charge of Commerce, Crafts, Small& Medium-sized Businesses, Tourism and Services; and Madame Lyne Cohen-Solal, deputy to the Mayor of Paris in charge of Commerce, Crafts,
Independent Professions and Arts Professions.
Helping making the fair a success were:
- Explosion de Modes : 500 m² dedicated to international trends
- 50 years of Barbie with a preview presentation of her collection of accessories created by such designers as Maison Michel, Yazbukey, Cesaire and the famous tattoo artist Tintin …
- The fashion shows with actress Diane Bonnot
- The different happenings: the Japanese Tomoko and her giant knitwear, the performances of the graffiti-artist Alëxone and the So Ethic bar designed by Andrea Crews.
