'Re-LOVE-ution' to cater to different segments of fashion

Celebrating freedom, designers Leconet Hemant presented a trio of collections called “Re-LOVE-ution” to cater to the different segments of fashion for men's and women's wear for Spring/Summer 2010 at Lakme Fashion Week.
Starting with a men's wear line of coats, jackets, shirts, trousers - both loose and slim – the duo showed their latest offering the “Shield” over jackets or shirts, which was padded and looked bullet proof.
The outfits in wool, canvas, flannel and even plastic were in wintry colours like black, mustard, blue, Tetron, red, olive, beige, taupe, burgundy, white and had discreet detailing like piping, gathers for pockets and jacket hems. It was a very European men's wear look which made a very stylish fashion statement.
The second collection featured men's and women's wear in the designers' new innovative fabrics. The organic “Ayurganic” collection which was treated with special oils and herbs and is free of synthetic chemicals and toxins will be sold at wellness lounges in biodegradable bags with an organic ink print on them.
Bringing together the design sensibilities of the country, the duo has worked on garments that will help, in acting as a therapeutic investment as well as a sartorial option. Tunics, capes, kimonos, trousers, hooded scarves and bath robes were given a special treatment so that even after 20 washes nearly 85 percent of the wellness properties will remain in the garments.
Finally it was drama after dark with a collection that was ideal formal wear for men and women. The former were dressed in stylish western jackets, blousons, suits trench coats, while the latter were attired in an Indo-west fusion of dresses with tights or churidars and sparkled with lovely embroidery. The black chiffon sari inspired toga dress, the black sleeveless chiffon ensemble with tulle and embroidered waistcoat, the white georgette embroidered dress with deep back were some of the Red Carpet creations that Leconet Hemant displayed to prove that they are as much at ease with glamorous Indian wear as they are with their very international garments.
With their perfect knowledge of style and construction the trio of collections which was well tailored and finished; will give Leconet Hemant a firm hold on not only the Indian but also the international fashion charts for both sexes.
