AJWright in search of the next face

Deal seekers and fashionistas alike are in luck -- AJWright comes to Lansing in time for Spring. AJWright will open the first Lansing location in the Frandor Shopping Center on Thursday, April 29, 2010. Along with grand opening festivities, the store will hold an open casting in search of the next face of AJWright.

Beginning April 29, 2010, at 8:00 a.m., AJWright will open its doors to offer the community current fashions at up to 70 percent off discount and chain store prices. AJWright is a leading off-price retailer that offers great deals on quality brand-name family apparel and footwear, accessories, home essentials, giftware, toys and more.

"Our shoppers are always on the lookout for the latest fashions at a great price," said Kathy Clair, AJWright assistant vice president of marketing. "With weekly merchandise changes, on any given day, including grand opening day, our customers can come in and find a real deal."

Grand opening festivities kick off Thursday at 7:45 a.m. with a special donation and presentation to the Boys & Girls Club of Lansing, ribbon cutting and an added bonus for early shoppers. The celebration continues after grand opening day with a real model search contest to find the next face of AJWright.

The Lansing real model search will take place at the Frandor Shopping Center on Saturday, May 8 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. After shopping for the best spring outfit, customers are invited to model their favorite styles outside the store.

AJWright will conduct online voting for the top 10 finalists from May 17-24, 2010. Shoppers can visit website to vote for their favorite Lansing model. Two winners will be featured as a model in an AJWright advertisement and will receive $250, as well as the clothes they modeled.

In addition to creating more than 50 new jobs in Lansing, AJWright has partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of Lansing, to support much-needed neighborhood programs.

A representative from the Boys & Girls Club, as well as local dignitaries, will be present as AJWright makes a donation to the organization on Thursday. AJWright supports the Boys & Girls Clubs of America on a corporate level with several programs throughout the year.

"This generous donation will go to support essential programs at our Club, which is much needed as school lets out for the summer," said Carmen Turner, Boys & Girls Club of Lansing president. "We truly appreciate all that AJWright has done for our program and the surrounding community."

AJWright regular store hours are Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The store will remain open until 10:00 p.m. Thursday to accommodate grand opening shoppers.
