From Flying Kites to Attaining Nirvana and Bizarre Bras, this year's 12 Indian entries for WORLD OF WEARABLEARTT (WOW) stunned everyone in a visual spectacular, hosted at the New Zealand High Commission. New Zealand's biggest art - theatrical extravaganza, WOW twists conventional perceptions of art and fashion and weaves them into an unforgettable performance.

The New Zealand High Commissioners residence witnessed an artistic show case of creative innovation, as the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) announced the twelve entries by some of India's budding fashion designers, which have been pre-selected for judging by the World of WearableArtT (WOW) judges in New Zealand. New Zealand High Commissioner, H.E Mr. Rupert Holborow, and New Zealand's Trade Commissioner, Mr. Cliff Fuller, graced the occasion along with Mr. Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI, fashion designers, dignitaries and eminent guests.

Dedicated to promoting exotic and luxury destinations of the world, Luxury Vacation Company Paradiso sponsored the event. Paradiso aims to provide the discerning world traveller a unique array of exotic destinations and locales set amidst grandeur and opulence. The Montana World of WearableArtT Awards Show (WOW) is a globally renowned arts & fashion extravaganza, held every September in Wellington, New Zealand's art and culture capital. The show welcomes an international audience of 40,000 per season. WOW, the brainchild of Nelson sculptor Suzie Moncrieff, is a unique concept where designers are encouraged to challenge their creative boundaries. WOW 'takes art off the wall and out of static display & adorns the human body in wildly wonderful ways that inspire all'.

Associated with WOW for the last 5 years, Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI said, "A globally renowned art meets fashion extravaganza, the Montana World of WearableArtT Awards (WOW) is a synthesis of fashion and creative ingenuity. It is very rare that budding designers get an opportunity to showcase their creativity on a global platform and WOW makes this possible. In its fifth year and gaining popularity each year, we are proud to announce that 12 dazzling garments will be entered for WOW 2010. It is an honour for FDCI to work with WOW to push talented, aspiring Indian designers to participate in this event every year and present their talent on such a prestigious platform."
