Nora Gardner unveils looks for modern working woman

Designer Nora Gardner wants women to invest in themselves. How? By investing in their wardrobes; by creating a consistent and memorable workplace image for themselves that is appropriate and attractive.

After working on Wall Street for nearly six years as an investment banker for a top financial firm, Nora found traditional business suits uncomfortable and unflattering.

The available alternatives were too suggestive, too expensive or lacking in functional, practical aspects.  Taking fashion into her own hands, Nora Gardner is introducing her first collection of modern looks (both dresses and suits) for working women. Sophisticated yet comfortable and easy to wear, the collection is designed in fabrics that transition as the seasons change.

Knowing that work can often transition into events during the evening hours – a black tie corporate affair, a formal client cocktail reception or even an upscale office celebration – what to wear to look professional at a special event becomes a pressing question.

For working women who want to dress up but have no down time, Nora is introducing a novel new concept (available now for Holiday events and travel) that’s portable and practical: Nora’s Dress in A Bag, a sleek, chic dress in stretch, wrinkle free velvet packed in a satin pouch decorated with Nora Gardner’s signature golden seahorse.

Nora’s Dress In A Bag will give women something unique to look forward to seasonally but for the winter months ahead the concept premieres with Nora Gardner’s classic Jennifer dress in jet black or midnight blue stretch velvet

Rather than struggle with a garment bag during a commute to work or have a little black dress hanging on the back of your office door, Nora Gardner’s luxe black satin pouch can be tossed in a tote bag or discreetly kept in a desk drawer. “When after work events call, my Dress in A Bag is there to help you look elegant yet still professional – even if you only have five minutes notice.”

Determined to help women succeed in the work place and equipped with real life insights into the fashion challenges they face, Nora left the corporate world and launched Nora Gardner with a selection of dresses priced under $300. “My goal,” Nora explains, “is to help women feel confident, comfortable, professional as well as attractive.

"I encourage women to invest in their work wardrobe; the importance of a consistently professional appearance is not to be overlooked.  From the moment a woman enters the office environment her look, her style, her attitude is scrutinized.  It’s simply a valuable career move to choose flattering fashion statements that express tasteful, timeless style.”

Nora Gardner looks to the future to expand her collection into a lifestyle brand that allows her practical, professional yet feminine and fashionable aesthetic to easily transition into other areas of life. Nora hopes one day to expand her brand to meet all the wardrobe needs of modern working women, supporting them as they work to achieve their career aspirations.

A graduate of Deerfield Academy and Georgetown University, Nora Gardner earned her undergraduate degree in Economics. The Nora Gardner fashion collection is her first venture as an entrepreneur. She is a native of Greenwich, Connecticut and presently resides in New York City where all the clothing in the Nora Gardner collection is made.
