The young designers at PODIUM Jeunes Stylistes are presenting their ready-to-wear collection at the exhibition. On the occasion of its very first February show, ApparelSourcing Paris will open its doors on 13th February with a choice of more than 60 exhibitors from Portugal, China, India, Pakistan, Italy, Bangladesh and Vietnam.

Apparelsourcing Paris will present an offer with a difference to buyers of finished products and fashion accessories, not just when it comes to the products but above all where the make up of this offer is concerned: manufacturers from all over the globe gathered together on a single stage, one of a kind in Europe.

Longer term sourcing for basic collections, medium term for replenishing stocks and the short cycle for one-off collections: organisation is made easier for those needing to place orders who have to cope with the acceleration in the rhythm and diversification of collections.

A platform with an ideal balance between those countries indispensable for medium term sourcing, like Turkey, for long-term sourcing like mainland China and Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Tunisia, Bangladesh and Vietnam, and sourcing from nearby European countries like Portugal and Italy.

Womenswear dominates with almost 50% of the lines, menswear 13-16 February 2012 and children's clothing represent 30% and accessories 20% in various price ranges. Podium Jeunes Stylistes will be presenting its capsule collection at ApparelSourcing – Paris. Creativity has long been considered as a minor aspect when assessing finished products by manufacturers. This has certainly changed, as now the “creativity” criterion is in second place after the criteria for price when introducing products in a very competitive market.

For that matter, Tracy Twue, head of marketing for Beijing Fomo Garments, confirmed this trend at the first ApparelSourcing Paris exhibition in September: “We are showcasing the products that demonstrate creativity, which in turn help to sell more simple products. We have employed designers so we are able to have commercial products with a fashionable flair to them. Our creativity is highly appreciated by our buyers, as you see that the best sellers are pieces with added creative value.”

Podium Jeunes Stylistes, a project dedicated to design, has heeded the call and will be coming to the show to present its capsule collection. An initiative from the association which brings together young graduates from the IPA G Business School, ESCP Europe and ESMOD, the project is designed as follows: once a year, 15 designers chosen from among over 200 candidates create two outfits in line with a set theme, in a given fabric, over the course of 3 months. Their designs are presented before a jury of professionals: from fashion, textiles and the retail sector. As from this year, apart from the two Couture outfits, the 15 designers are called on to create an outfit aimed at the retail sector which will form part of the ready-to-wear collection called “Collection PJS”.

Unlike other projects concerning Design, Podium Jeunes Stylistes is targeting the market for finished products and intends to forge a name for itself, thanks to the far-sightedness of its organisers.
